Motronic

Hi. Can someone give me some info about the Motronic system as used 
on 1984 BMW 735's, particularly, is it feasable to take the system 
and install it in a vehicle that currently has an L-Jet system ie. 
can one re-programme (map) it to make it work in another application? 
If so, how!?
