By closed loop A/F control, I mean using the EGO, as opposed to 
open-loop where you just measure air and add fuel to suit.  For 
off-stoich conditions, you just go open-loop, but use all your VE 
correction factors (learned whilst closed-loop) to give you a better 
approximation of A/F.
