G-Tech meter

Hi All,

Am I correct in thinking that the G-Tech calculates rear wheel hp, etc based on measured accel, time  and known mass 
of the vehicle?  I can't figure out how environmental factors would affect 1/4 mile et and mph readings. Help 
please!
