the solenoid is the whole problem -- a truly crummy way to increase
throttle speed ..... for one, you have to depress the accelerator
to let the solenoid actuate -- it's not strong enough to kick the
throttle up by itself. for another, you only have one enhanced
rpm setting .... with the vacuum bleed, you have a range of control,
depending on how you do it -- the IAC usually pulse width modulates
a leak solenoid. what I was proposing was to use two (or more)
cheap vacuum solenoids (with metering holes for volume control) to
implement several stages -- with two, you would have three enhanced
rpm levels .... a+b, b only, a only
