safety...in - line fuel pump

  I do not know if GM uses an impact relay to shut off the fuel pump.  I know that Ford cars of the mid '80s had such a device.  When it received a large enough shock (being rear ended for example) it would break the circuit.  You would then have to got to it and press a button.  Perhaps you can retrofit something like that.
