And as others mentioned, you may find it easier to weld these to the intake
instead of making them bolt through with the manifold bolts. Depends on the
manifold and engine config.

one other thing;
If you are going to do much welding on the manifold near the ends of the
runners, like for the injector bosses, you can try bolting it to a head to
keep it straight, but I think you will find that you need to resurface it
anyway when you are done to get it straight again.

The whole thing is actually a pretty fun project and not that hard to
accomplish.

I have a similar one coming up again soon with an FE engine in a boat. Uses
Dove Medium Riser heads and matching Tunnel Ram. Gutted 2 old 750 holleys
leaving just the base plate and empty bodys (with lots of holes plugged
with epoxy) to use as air doors. K&N V stacks on top of that. Otta go like
stink. Wouldn't mind seeing a picture of the other Tunnel Ram mentioned
earlier to get more ideas from.

One other comment;
The old Holley makes an OK air door, and with the air horn chopped and the
venturi gone, and all smoothed up, it actually flows rather well. One thing
you might want to look at though is the throttle shafts and the fit on the
butterflies. The shafts are always worn pretty bad and if you can bush
and/or O-ring them, it will show in the idle and low end department. The
fit on the butterflies is also usually fairly mediocre. For racing it don't
matter much, but for street economics, it can make quite a difference.

Have fun!
