Yea, you're right. There is unburned mixture in the exhaust, sucked
there by the expansion chamber then rammed back into the cylinder just
before port closure by the reflected wave - if the tuned exhaust is
working correctly at this RPM. That'd probably confuse the hell out of
an O2 sensor alright!

I wonder if there is another way to close the loop? Testing EGT, or
sensing rich-misfire (using a modified knock sensor)then backing off...
sounds like a lot of work!
