DIY dyno.

Mention has been made briefly of using a torque converter in a diy dyno
arrangement: I have never tried (or seen anyone try) this but it seems to me
that an auto transmission could easily be adapted into an engine dyno: lock
the output shaft against a load cell to measure torque, control the fluid
flow through the torque converter to vary the load (may even be able to do
this electronically to provide a closed loop load control) and provide a
whole HEAP of cooling for the fluid! Presumably you guys in the US shouldn't
have problem finding a huge auto tx. cheap? Anyone with any comments? If
this is a load of cr*p please say so & I won't bother trying it!
