Hi All

With all the VE talk going on I thought I'd through this in.

Well this is my plan.....
Using an engine with a low CR run a supercharger feeding a turbo so
it has good boost over the whole rpm range even from idle.
Have a look at :-

This is how I'm hoping it will work......
The SC max rpm is 10,000, the engine is going to be rpm limited to
7,000. The SC drive pulley is going to be setup so that the SC is
doing max rpm when the engine is.
As the throttle plate is after the SC and it is being driven at max
rpm the SC needs to be regulated. To do this I'm going to use a 2 - 3 inch
throttle body as the bypass valve and control it with a wastegate
pressure actuator. Having set up this way also means that once the
turbo has taken over it has a direct cold feed via the bypass.
The rest of the system is the same as a standard
turbo car except that I want to use a larger turbo with a high AR so
that it will be working in it's most efficient range, the other reason to
use a bigger turbo is that because the engine is pumping more air
through because of the SC and the turbo will spool up quicker. I'm going
to try and size the turbo so that it's fully boosting by 4,000 - 5,000 rpm
The SC I'm going to use is a from Toyota MR2 1600cc if you want to
see a pic of it have a look at

It has an electric clutch so I'm also thinking of turning it off
after ~ 5,000 rpm then turning it back on at about 4,000 rpm.

So what do you lot think.......

Cheers
