Electronic Boost Controller

Hi all,
I'm thinking about making a combined ALDL scanner and electronic boost 
controller (hey, there's not much room in my car!).

Is the boost controller basically just a couple of solenoid valves and 1 or 2 
MAP sensors, or am I missing something blindingly obvious?
