 The German K-Jetronic was a simplified rehash of the Rochester air
velocity/CIS system used on Chevrolet and Pontiac products in '57 and
'58.  The K-Jet was used on the early Ferrari Testarossas and FI 512s,
the Lotus Espri, the Porsche 911 Turbo, and similar cars.  It was
reliable, easily tuned, and inexpensive; the microprocessor controlled
FI systems' only advantage is tunability for emissions purposes.
