I understand that Visual DBase is pretty good, but it is pretty slow
compared to Fox.  Visual Foxpro is a really good product that has a true
database (persistant relationships, etc), is object oriented with
inheritance and all that jazz, is event-driven, and (in version 6.0) has
some really impressive web extensions.  Of course, the Rushmore (tm)
technology just keeps getting faster.

(I'm less than serious about trashing other products, but I'm sincerely
impressed with Fox)
