I know what a Yugo is, but I never heard of a Trabi. Anyhow, Foxpro is
the fastest stand-alone or LAN based database system available. It'll
talk to client-server databases, but then it's limited by the speed of
the server. I have played with some client-server stuff... it's
slooooooooow. Of course, I might be spoiled by the speed of the Fox :)
My cousin was forced to write some stuff in Paradox and found it to be
quite limiting.
I found Foxpro to be useful for anylizing the mound of raw data that I
got from the HONDO program. The HONDO program grabs several samples per
second of the engine's operating paramteers (MAP, RPM, intake temp, O2
voltage, TPS, spark timing, etc) and stores it to a file. I pull it into
a Foxpro database and anylize it and use the data to tweak the fuel
tables.
(gotta keep this sort-of on topic)
