pistons refrigeration

I wish to know your opinion about pistons refrigeration by oil on high boost
engine.
I know this system is using on Volvo 850 turbo.  And I interesting what
American car have
this system.  Does this system relay effect on detonation resistance?

I will convert my normal aspirated engine (Mercedes V8  5 liters) to
two-turbo engine with
boost up to 20 psi.

Do really this system will be useful for my turbo-engine.
