Installing FI on a old car.

Hello all once again..

As you may remember, I work on old vw's (maintaining them) ..

Here is the question of the day, I am a very much a novice at this, but I
was thinking of rebuilding a old vw and installing a more modern fuel
injection system in it. It would be in a old type3 (the one with the old
d-jetronic) so the manifolds and some of the other minor stuff would be in
there.. how hard would it be to remove a system from a more recent car and
retrofit it in there? The engine is going to be a 2liter, so could I remove
a bosch system from a 2 liter car? I know that I would have to put a o2
sensor in the exhaust and rerun all the fuel lines and intake plumbing etc
(I know I am simplifying this) but would the I have to modify the
computer?(etc)

Are there any good sites that have shown what people have done to cram a
new system in cars that didn't have any in there or that were not designed
for fi..?

I know that there is a guy that uses a old CIS system and retro fits them
into the cars, and it work really well. I just would rather try it with
l-jetronic.

How hard is it to do this with efi?!

Recommendations as to where start?

z
