First thing I do is clean them. The two bit car washes around here
are getting a little fussy, but if you clean up your mess, they don't
mind tooooo much. Harbor freight has a 25pc metric sae set for $10.
I bought it when it was 15 and thought it was a good deal. These are
combination wrenches.
Try to leave the electrical harness as much in one piece as possible.
While there are some things such as tail lights that you won't need,
if you throw away just one item that you need, it can be a lot more
painful than the extra work of stripping it all. I can't find the
ignition relay, and there is one plug that is missing. I can
substitute another relay, but since it is computer controlled, I am a
little hesistant. You can clean up the harness later and make it fit
your airframe. Before you sell it for $25 go over it several times
to make sure that there is absolutely nothing you can use off it in
the next year. Heater coils, fan motors, gas tank(w fuel pump). seat
belt hardware(you already know about old straps). throttle cables
rear axle for a trailer. wheel hubs for a trailer. gas tank filler.
The instrument cluster may have some parts you will find handy/
