Be aware there are 8 pole generators used on after market cruise controls. I
have one. Hit the speed limter at 62 MPH.

A good source for 4 poles are 82-87 Olds Ciera's and Buick Century's with
after-market cruise. These are 4 pole. They are located in the engine
compartment in the center just below the wipers. The Ciera and Century have
a two piece speedo cable (when not equiped with factory cruise) to allow the
VSS to be installed. I grab them whenever I see them.

Well you could always put 4 magnets on a driveshaft and
use a magnetic pu..

The JTR setup is good and you can get either the four or two pole

FYI taxicabs use a similiar rig. So wreck I mean recyling yards
