I always thought it was time that was money, and therefore:

 KNOWLEDGE  = POWER and  
 TIME = MONEY  and we know that
POWER = WORK / TIME then we can substitute in knowledge and get

KNOWLEDGE = WORK / TIME, then substituting in money for time and re-arranging 
to get it in terms of money we have

MONEY = WORK / KNOWLEDGE.

>From this we can conclude that the less you know the more money you 
get from doing the same amount of work.
