The JTR book has several pages on this issue. The pickups are
interchangeable mechanically, although they use different size tubes for
the different functions (fuel feed, fuel return, cannister purge). I'm
talking about pickups for the carb and FI version of the S-10 truck.
You can get a tank pickup for a FI S-10, then put a TPI pump on it
instead of a TBI pump, and you should be OK.
On that pickup (FI), here are the hose functions:
3/8: fuel supply
5/16: fuel return
1/4: cannister
On the carbed version of the pickup, the function of the 5/16 line and
1/4 line are reversed.
