 On heating up the combustion chamber.  Have you seen the photos of 
the toyota engine that thru some magic leaves a very lean layer of 
gas around the perimeter of the combustion chamber  and a sphere of 
combustible gas in the center .  When it fires, the heat transfered 
to the engine is greatly reduced without reducing the energy applied 
to the top of the piston   Voila increased gas mileage.  

If they keep going, pretty soon we will be running the exhaust gas 
thru the evaporator of the Air Conditioning to cool the car.
