There is a firm in the UK just introduced such a product.  Its a 
bulky unit integrated into a desk with various adapter cables for 
the ECUs.  It has a modem type link to their HQ where (for a price) 
you download a test routine for the specific ECU.

Its targeted at Large Garages or Specialised Automotive Electronic 
repair outfits.  Its probably not at all cheap !
