water injection home made

I made my own for my carburated Renault in the 70s.
I used a small electric water pump from a winshield washer a jet from
a motorcycle and control unit from a vacuum diaphram, a micro switch
to bear against the diaphram and a relay that would latch on. I
tapped into the windshield solution and got a bit of alcholol along
with the water.

The jet i placed in the air filter and had it blowing spray into the
top of the carburator. I would start the system after car was running
It would be activated when the engine vacuum was almost zero. It
stopped the pinging at high loads. Too much water reduced
performance.
