Yes,
I remember someone mentioning drilling a hole in the top, welding on a nut
and putting in a screw to make it adjustable.  My question is, doesn't the
unit have to be air tight, hence there will be a leak if you put in a screw ?

I guess if you go for the shim the regulator will stay air tight but you
need a bit of trial and error to get it right since you don't know how much
is needed to increase pressure 5psi (for example).
