ASCII - please

The INTERNET is composed of real computers like SUN, DEC, IBM mainframes,
100's of thousands of UNIX box's (like most Internet Servers), millions of
Mac and other non Bill Gates Centric clients - literally around the world.
In this vast arena of data interchange, Windoze is a modest player. I
suppose if you are simply playing on AOL or WEB TV, you would get the
impression that the Internet and Internet mailing lists are merely
extensions of Bill Gates Miracle Kludge for your use and abuse, so your
ignorance might be excused. But for all the users on all other systems, not
only is what you post is garbage, but extremely verbose garbage. A large
percentage of people on a mailing list are in the Digest Mode - since they
have a life elsewhere and if you are on several lists, you can get literally
hundreds of messages a day. If you MIME or HTML it, what we get is endless
idiotic character streams of utter GARBAGE.

In the cold faceless electronic world, you are judged by what you say and
how you say it. When you trash everyone else's use and enjoyment by your
ignorance, arrogance and stubborn defense of the indefensible, you become
the garbage that your Mickey Soft spews upon the rest of us. If you don't
want to be thought of as the garbage you impose on us - STOP!!!

Don't garbage any list again until you know how to set your outgoing mail to
ASCII. Do not ask the list how - it further garbage's the list. In most
Mickey Soft helps "Plain Text" will tell you how.

Try it - we'll all like it. And yes, we forgive you for your ignorance -
some of us wear Cone Shaped hats and some of us have lumps and have
graduated to dual side hammers to insert ideas. And BTW, we were sending
GIFS and images before Bill Gates unleashed the plague of unwashed mass's -
but mailing lists are not usually set up to handle it - that's for web
sites, ftp and newsgroups.
