The hat won't save you on this one. I have a feeling this is alot like
that interstellar radio ET built outta garage parts in the movie. Only,
somehow I think you're missing the special glow at the end of yer
fingertip. B)

Simply put, what on EARTH are you thinking in the above??? Guys, guys,
instead of thinking you can trip the EE light fantastic and wander off
into what-if land on the fly, why don't yous guys that have these "why
wouldn't a transformer hooked to a lightbulb connected to a diode
connected to 80V work" questions, instead try to understand HOW others
who understand this have made it work. GO READ THE PATENTS! There is NO
reason for anyone to have to post any special circuits on this subject,
and spoon feed you, cuz they're all there in those list of patents I
gave. Hell, I even pointed out which ones had what, and what were the
most important to read first, when I reported to ya on them. Back a
couple weeks. I'll even give ya a big hint: The subject of the post was
"First ION report...", which mentions the two key patents. The list of
all the rest was posted some time earlier.

(sound of gavel hitting the block...) Another one, sentenced to 2
megabytes of hard time in the archives. That'll teach ya to fall asleep
at the wheel! Ya can't just wake up at the end of the move, and say,
"Oh, I get it, so this is how the movie went; but what about ...". What
we seem to need here is a major rewind button on the video of life.

P.S. I went over to the diy_web page to see just how easy it was to
access the archives (pieceOcake, BTW), and discovered to my amazement
that there have actually been a couple threads on ionization
measurement, and one person back in '95 who seems to have been about to
have working hardware, I believe a Robert Dingli in Oz? Anyone remember
him? Guess what, he had decided to use a wasteFire coil, with one of the
secondary outputs grounded! Hee. Deja Vu all over again!
