all US 914's were either D-Jet 2.0 liter, or the 1.8 had the L-Jetronic,
standard setup, one injector per cylinder, bosch fuel pump under gas tank in
trunk, some European 914's had little carburetors, but to my knowledge none
were imported by Porsche to the US.

Couldn't you guys start out with a (VW) motor which used a D-Jet Bosch, and
just adapt digital electronics to it??
