Torque Converter Lock-Ups

Martin,
Here in the states since at least 1985, GM has been using electronic
control to open and close a solenoid to apply the TCC.  There is some
control in the trans (no fluid allowed until at least 2nd gear), but after
that it's electronic.  My 95 LeSabre actually controls the speed of lockup
by varying the PW going to the TCC apply solenoid.  It can control the
amount of slip the TC has by performing partial applies.
