Good point Don I did notice some wear and heat color on the ceramic seal as well
as the mating copper like part which was all worn out.  They resemble two slip
rings.  Is that where the sealing takes place??
I guess the plug at the top with the 3/8 drive goes last after all the air goes
out.
One other thing we use coolant rather antifreeze down here and maybe, just maybe
there is no lubrication from the coolant. Ethelyne glycol does doesn't it ??
