GM water pump

I would definately do a good thorough flush and ensure any chance of acid levels
being high or abrasives in the system are flushed out.

Are your fan belts being overtightened? 1/2in deflection per foot is GM
recommendation, too much tension and you are asking for early failure.

Does the pump spin freely? Before and after? It should not feel like sandpaper
in the bearings.

Someone makes a radiator filter, Summit has it, something to consider to reduce
the potential of debris.

Fully disassemble the failed pump and diagnose any unusual looking wear on the
shaft or bearing surfaces. Look for torn or improperly installed seals.

Let us know what you find!
