According to the 86 OTC 2000 manual, it's called Diagnostic
Assembly Line Check Link (ALCL).
Also,  EFI gm vehicles will add extra spark when ALCL commanded, to allow
for ESC tesing.  "Vehicles must no be
driven in the ALCL Mode).
