You mean just like Cadillac has since the Mid fifties?? Check it out,
the "new" firing order has been used by GM for 40 years.

Well 550ft/lbs at 3000rpm right out of the box in 1970 by Caddy 
kinda tends to lend credibility to the torque claim.

Well the Caddy numbers their cylinders the way most sane manufacturers 
do, which is the same way chev does. The cylinder closest to the front 
of the car is #1, and the remaining cyls are numbered sequentially
front to back. Pay attention to which cyl bank is the forward one
as they change with engine series.
