Speaking of Toyota's,

Excuse me if this has been covered, and if its a stupid question, but I'm
hanging here in the background trying to pick up some knowledge and learn how
to do this stuff myself.My main concern is learning GM stuff, but would love
to pick up other stuff as I read along.

So here's my ?

Is there any way to modify the programming in a Toyota 4 runner ECU? Is it a
matter of desoldering the ROM on board? or can you flash it with some type of
tool?
