check out uclinux.com
they use a coldfire chip and a baord about the size of a simm
it has verious seral and 10bT in/outputs

cost about $ 200 US
has ~ 8 mb ram and os on prom
cost ~$200

maye it is time ofor a linuxEFI list?

that would be just too way cool
espcially if you printed up a giant vinyl sign that said "Powered by LEGO" and
stuck it on your vehicles' rear fascia
