Why bother making one? Why don't you spend the $40 and buy the one from
Summit Racing (their Summit brand name)? It has a handful of dip
switches and a fine tuning pot as well. The switch logic is reversable
(closed to open, or open to closed). If you must make one, then buy this
rpm switch and reverse engineer it.
BTW, I use it to operate my variable geometry intake manifold (at 4k
rpm, the inner plenum flap open up). It works great (I tap the signal
from the ECU to the tachometer/instrument cluster).
