Hi to all,
after 3 years of absence I am back on this list, so I thought it would
be a good idea to introduce myself.
I drive a Volkswagen Polo G40 and spent the last years doing some reverse enginieering
on its "Digifant" ECU. My main interest was to get access to the ECU via the built-in
diagnosis interface. One year ago, I succeeded: my PC can now read and clear the error
memory and read engine data (e.g. lambda voltage, revs, ign. and inj. timing, battery voltage,
coolant and air temp, ...).
Also. together with two friends of mine I built a 68020 computer. Right now, I have my set up
a cross compile environment (under Linux, of course...) for it so that I can program it in C and
C++.
That brings up my future plans: I want to use that 68020 system as an ECU. The analog part
will be done by an analog board of an old Digifant ECU. I would like to experiment with algorithms
for engine control, my major interest is to use a neural network and/or fuzzy logic to get rid of
the need for a dyno for .
Finally, I have some questions:
1. Has anyone dealt with neural networks or fuzzy logic for engine control? What are your experiences?
2. Does anybody know of a diagnosis protocol which uses PWM for data readout?
Thanks in advance for any helping hands and .. <<giggle>> a wonderful new Millenium!
