Burning chips

Tony, have a look at the WWW page under "OEM systems" for "tuning tips"
and "programming 101".  There's lotsa information about what's in the
chip and how to modify it, although it doesn't apply directly to GNs. 
As far as hardware, I see needhams highly recommended all the time on
this list, although I don't own one.
