Just about everything you want to know is at http://www.microchip.com -
a PIC is a RISC based microcontroller. Gotta get me some of that... ;)
Looks like a lot of fun! Available with EEPROM or OTP, in lots of
flavors. Digikey sells 'em pretty cheap too...
