DFI, Batch Fire, and other myths

Why would it be a problem to deal with lots of boost when all the injectors
(or a bunch) are opened at the same time?   Is the problem associated with
pump pressure versus flow capacity, or with the actual manifold fuel
dynamics?  Just curious.
