The problem with any open wheel racing is that when the cars touch you get
instant junk yard. When Winston Cup cars touch, they just go faster (or
someone spins). A 20 car wreck leaves 18 in drivable condition.

Just getting near Paul Tracy can ruin your car and Andretti behind you
guarantees a cut rear tire. Rule changes are constantly made to favor
Neuman-Hass. Remember the push rod engines a little while back?

In F1, you just watch Schumaker go round a half a lap ahead of everyone else.
I won't even mention the ridiculous carnage of the standing start.

Winston Cup cars only have about 600 HP and run the big tracks with
restrictor plates and still do over 200 MPH. If you think its easy, compare a
Bush race to a Winston. The top 30 drivers (Winston) can run a super speedway
with a couple of spins and the next best 30 drivers (Bush) might finish a
race with half the field out.

[I do think it a bit silly for Mark Martin and other top drivers to run Bush
cars. I can see the fun and the strategy, but come on, let the other guys
have a shot!]

What's that European class with all Mercedes, Bay-em-vays, and Porsche?
Pretty boring to watch as well. There were Mustangs one year but I think they
have been ruled out again.
