Torque Converters

It would alsmost seem, like with the advent of solenoids controlling the
shifting, that some sort of direct drive would be possible for the pump in
an automatic tranny, using solenoids for a "bleed-off" type, system for
stand still operation.
    Anuone know how the Converterless Powerglides work with just the one
lever valve, for controllong it?.  Seems like a PCM controller would be
rather easy to do.
