What about about completely moving away from the standard fuel rail type
injectors and use the ones that take a straight hose fitting on the end.  You
could tee 2 fuel rails to the top with just a Y-piece.  Place a solenoid between
each rail and injector (yes lots of solenoids, how small can you get these
things ?), however this would allow for two independent systems which could run
constantly and the purge time would only be a few injector cycles, just switch
on the desired set of solenoids (standard or go fast).  You even set up your go
fast fuel rail with more pressure since injector is the same.
