Yup, the coatings you describe work very well,  BUT , be very careful with
both the baking temperature and the baking time.  Most piston alloys are
heat treated to some extent, and allowing your baking temperature and/or
baking time to wander off into uncharted territory will quickly wreck the
material characteristics of your new set of slugs.  A call to both the
piston vendor and the coating vendor might be warranted before starting.
