Modifying OBD-II systems

I'd imagine that there are some aftermarket folks that can change any
parameter they want.   All, it takes is time, and money.
   I've even heard rumors, of a gm document being leaked out..
So far thou, little has been public domained, since it is so new, and not
many people are working on it yet.
  As time passes, I'm sure more will come to light.
How they are handling DTCs so far is anyone's quess
