APC ( automatic performence control) It could also retard the timing, and
would open the wastegate when the brake was applied. I think I still have the 
training manuals for it ( if I do I'll scan and upload it )

Subarus will do this if the wastegate seizes ( full fuel cutoff at hi
boost nearly puts you through the windshield, then turns on and gives 
you whiplash)
