Burn your own chip?

I am new to the list and have a couple of questions.
1. What happened to the website? All the links I find are dead. Is there a
new website somewhere? I remember the old one having a lot of information.
2. I am trying to find information on burning my own chip. The car uses
Volkswagen's Digifant II injection, utilizing a Motorola 68Hc11 processor,
and standard e-proms. Can anyone point me in the right direction in finding
information on what I would need to make my own chip? Obviously some sort of
e-prom reader/burner, a disassembler, and a compiler. Any equipment
recommendations? So far a search of the web has only turned up make it
yourself parrel port e-prom burners, and very little on the software needed.
Since I am neither an EE nor a CIS major, I would like as complete a package
as possible. I would rather spend time perfecting the chip then sodlering
together my own e-prom burner. On the other hand I am trying to keep costs
under control. If the costs get too high I would much rather just purchase
an aftermarket stand alone system.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I would also
love to hear your thoughts/opinions/comments on the myriad of aftermarket
injection systems available. There are so many systems out there with so
many different features its hard to figure out whats necessary and whats
just a bonus. Again any sources of information you can point me to would be
greatly appreicated.
Thanks,
matt
