Do you mean an LM1949, Mike? If so, that's a pre-driver, the final
driver that's probly smoked in Grump's case is a darlington mounted
somewhere on the case. It's possible just replacing that final driver
will restore function.
I'm workin in the blind here, since I don't know how the innards of
these things are constructed, but I think to do the repair, you should
start at the final drive device and work backwards. I'm sure someone has
a part no. for the darlington used on the 749, right?
