Bosch LE/2 Jetronic (info and problems)

If it's 8-valve then most likely to be Motronic 1.5.
There was someone recently on the list fitting this system to an Isuzu 2.3L
engine (original posting 10th Feb 2000 I think). I think he was trying to
avoid interfering with the eprom, adjusting the external condititons to get
it to run right.
I don't have experience of modifying the program/maps myself, but have an
interest like yourself none the less.
My main interest would be to remove the airflow meter with it's associated
airflow restrictions and run the system with the throttle position sensor as
main input instead of the airflow meter. Has anyone any experience of this
approach??
I can appreciate that it may not be very easy to accomplish, the engine load
would now be determined from a combination of TPS level and RPM instead of
predominantly airflow from the AFM. I don't suppose the maps are set up to
accomodate this directly?

Anyone out there playing with Motronic 1.5 able to shed some light??

Thanks.

Rich
