Oxy sensor

Just purchased an oxy sensor bung (Mr. Gasket) - measures 0.668" "thick" -
shrouds about half of the sensor element.  Stock one is thin enough that
the element protrudes fully into the ex pipe.

Question:  ok as is, or cut it down?
