Hi All,
I am a relative newcomer to this list. I joined a
couple of weeks ago and have been 'lurking' to get a
feel for the folks and topics of interest. I am an
Electrical Engineer presently employed in the
communications industry. I am involved in programming
a suite of digital signal processing algorithms for a
military radio communications receiver. Prior to 1999,
I worked for the Naval Air Systems Command as an
aircraft engine control systems specialist. I don't
have much control systems design experience as my job
called for understanding and troubleshooting systems
already designed by General Electric, Pratt and
Whitney, Rolls Royce, etc. I do have > 12 years
hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting and
'tuning' gas turbine controls for all of the aircraft
in the Navy inventory. I am currently building up a
modified Toyota 3SGTE turbo engine for my 1988 Celica
All Trac. I am looking to modify the ECU or buy an
aftermarket controller such as Motec or Autronic. I
am also designing and programming my own datalogger
using an Atmel 8 bit micro and Maxim ADC's. These
extracurricular projects are taking a while to
complete as I put in a lot of 12 hour days and I have
a three year old daughter that gets a lot of my time.
I hope I will be able to contribute to this list as
time goes on. I like what I have seen so far in terms
knowledgeable posts and lack of egomaniacs.
