Wideband and Ethanol

Hi Carl---

Was just thinking about you when this post arrived from you---

Cover of the May issue of Popular Hot Rodding has a nice picture of a Hemi
with twin Lysholms on top--sitting in Whipple's dyno cell. Your former
place of work, right??

Anyway--question at hand: The picture shows the headers on the Hemi with
three probes in each tube just after the flange that attaches the tubes to
the head. One of the probes is said to be a "conventional" thermocouple
(for EGT reading) , one of the probes is said to be a "Horiba" a/f meter
probe (clearly an NTK WBO2 sensor from the picture, probably hooked to some
sort of an EGOR, but doubt if by Horiba.

Last--AND the one I am CURIOUS about--is said to be "a solid state EGT
sensor" My questions ARE--were you still there when they were using these,
thus are you familiar with them???, AND--WTF ARE they??? Where might one
find 'em?? Are they worth a hoot??

C ya--

Greg
